Avoiding School Bus Accidents

Bus Stop/School Zone Driving Safety Tips

Twice a day during the school year, sidewalks fill with kids who walk or bicycle to school, or ride the bus. Follow these tips to keep them safe - especially between 3 and 4 p.m., when the most severe school-age pedestrian injuries happen.

Drive slowly and be alert, especially near bus stops and school zones. Children rushing to meet the bus or get to school might dart into the street. Kids might also walk in the street, especially if there are no sidewalks. To avoid being the victim of a pedestrian accident, teach your kids to be good pedestrians: Safe habits include walking with a group; walking on the sidewalk-or if there isn't one, walking facing traffic; looking both ways before and while crossing the street; and crossing only at corners or intersections. If you or a loved one suffered from an accident and need to speak with an attorney, please contact us.

Ledbetter & Titsworth is proud to serve individuals and families across the NC Triangle, including those in Cary, Apex, Morrisville, Holly Springs, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and beyond.
