Representing Injured Residents Of North Carolina

June 2019 Archives

Motor vehicle accidents occur despite advanced safety features

The National Safety Council expresses concern about the numbers of crash fatalities nationwide, including North Carolina, despite advanced technology and improvements in traffic safety. Even though auto manufacturers add more advanced safety features to each new model, motor vehicle accidents continue to occur. The conclusion is that driver errors play a significant role in the ever-increasing fatality rate.

Personal injury: Nursing home patient's injuries not reported

Leaving an elderly loved one in the care of a nursing home is never easy, and for North Carolina families who are looking for a facility that will provide suitable care, it might be a daunting challenge. Not knowing what type of personal injury their loved ones might suffer when they are not present could cause concern, especially with frequent reports of elder abuse in the media. One example of such a case recently led to charges being filed against a nurse's assistant in another state.

Scaffold injuries might lead to workers' compensation claims

North Carolina safety authorities launched an investigation into a construction site accident that happened in Raleigh on a recent Thursday. An incident report indicates that rescue workers were called to the scene at approximately 11:30 a.m. to tend to injured workers on a scaffold. The injured workers will likely file workers' compensation benefits claims for coverage of their medical expenses.

Personal injury: UNC campus violence kills 2, injures 4

When campus injuries are mentioned, one's mind automatically goes to dangerous premises, slip-and-fall accidents, vehicle accidents and other similar incidents. No one wants to even consider the possibility of a violent attack by a gun-wielding student. However, shootings in public places are becoming more prevalent, one of which caused deaths and injuries in an attack at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte. Injured students and the surviving family members of those who lost their lives can pursue personal injury and wrongful death claims in a civil court.
